A seat at the table…

Elijah was never offered a seat at Jezebel’s table. That place was reserved for the prophets she could control— the ones who preached what pleased her ears, who dined on compromise and called it favor, who wore titles but had no truth.

They looked blessed.

Polished. Prominent.

They had the queen’s nod and the crowd’s applause.

But Elijah had none of that.

No platform. No promotion.

Just the wilderness, the wind, and the whisper of God.

He was a man outnumbered—

facing a nation drunk on idolatry

and a queen with blood on her hands.

He ran for his life,

but never ran from his call.

Because Elijah could not be bought.

Not with royal meals or recognition.

Not with comfort or the illusion of safety.

He would rather be fed by ravens in obscurity

than dine with demons in luxury.

He bowed to One—and One only.

Jehovah, holy and jealous for His people.

Don’t trade your mantle for a meal.

Don’t barter your anointing for applause.

Don’t sell your soul for a seat.

Let the world keep its tables if it means losing your fire. Don’t silence the truth to be seated among the popular. Don’t dress your convictions in compromise just to be called successful.

You may not get the invitation.

You may walk alone,

misunderstood, dismissed, even hunted.

The wilderness may feel lonely, but that’s where the fire falls. That’s where heaven speaks.

And that’s where God still sends the rain.

God still whispers to those who wait outside the noise. And the Spirit still anoints the ones who refuse to bow.

So let them keep their table.

You keep the faith.

And like Elijah, stand.

Even if it’s just you.

Especially if it’s just you.

Because Heaven backs the ones who will not bend.

Elijah never needed the queen’s table.

And neither do you.

I Kings 18:21-22

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
