Every piece is a story for his glory

The room was full.

Such an audience, but she knew what she needed to do.

She focused in on Jesus.

Audience of one.

She made her way to his feet.

That was nothing new, the crowd hardly noticed.

But Jesus saw.

He looked down on her, with eyes of love, and smiled. He knew what she would do.

She took her alabaster box, the most precious thing she owned, and broke it.

The pieces scattering all over the floor.

Immediately, the fragrance filled the room.

People stopped talking, all eyes searched for the source of the fragrance.

Then they saw her, sitting amongst the broken pieces of what was so precious to her, anointing that which was most precious.

People began coming in from the street, searching for the source of such a fragrance.

They were all brought to the feet of Jesus, because of one woman who sat among her broken pieces, and anointed him.

The fragrance of her brokenness brought them to his feet. Not everyone understood, some even criticized. But there was no other voice heard above his, as he praised her willingness to honor him with what was broken.

And your brokenness will do the same.

Don’t be afraid of the pieces, don’t be afraid to sit amongst them, don’t be afraid to anoint him with what’s left.

There is beauty in brokenness.

Because it draws a crowd to his feet.

Every piece tells a story, all for his glory.

John 12:3 & 9

“ Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.”
