Psalms 27:23-14

“I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”

…UNLESS I had BELIEVED to see the goodness of the Lord…

Fainting would have come to pass, had the psalmist not made a choice to make himself see the goodness of the Lord.

Sometimes there isn’t much good around you. Sometimes it’s NOT everywhere you look. Sometimes you are surrounded by reminders of what is causing your pain instead.

Fainting will be in your future unless you make yourself find the good.

That will take effort. Because when you’re near fainting, nothing comes easy.

If you will believe to see the goodness of the Lord, you’ll find it. It will breathe life into your weary soul.

Look for it.

Point it out.

Make a big deal out of every little bit of good. Even if your heart is breaking, point out that good and let it breathe life into your soul for another mile.

If you’ll look, you’ll find it,

God is good, even when life is not.
