God isn’t like you

Numbers 23:19

“ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

You might feel tempted to believe that God has changed, as though your shifting circumstances could alter His nature. But if that were true, He wouldn’t be God—He’d be you.

But He is God.

Holy beyond grasp.

Pure beyond measure.

Sinless, steady, unwavering.

And you? Frail. Imperfect. Tossed by the winds of heartache and fear.

He is not like you. He isn’t like the people who have failed or wounded you, who wear the scars of broken promises and fleeting loyalties. You cannot hold Him to the standards of this world, because even your highest ideals are shadows of His glory.

God is not you.

And nothing has changed Him.

He stands unshaken, the same unyielding I AM, just as He always has been.

And He will be I AM for you, here and now, even in this place.
