Genesis 3:6
“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”
Satan has always tried to discredit what God said. He has always sought to put a question mark where God has put a period.
He’s always sought to attack your confidence.
“Ye shall not surely die.”
Constantly, treating the word that God had already spoken, as though it was not enough, as though it contained a flaw.
We don’t know how long the serpent talked with Eve, or how long it took her to “see that the tree was good for food.”
It could’ve been one encounter.
Or it could’ve been that she met the serpent regularly, at the tree. Instead of rebuking the serpent, the moment he suggested that God had told her a lie, she listened. She may not have “agreed” with him right away, but she didn’t rebuke him.
It may have taken time for serpent to talk her into reaching for the fruit, but she had handed over victory the moment that she chose to listen to him. What she saw before her, the pleasant things that looked so good after the serpent’s subtle words, overcame what God said.
The enemy’s agenda hasn’t changed. He just doesn’t appear as a snake in a garden. He may appear as someone on social media, when downplays the inspiration of the word of God.
He may appear as someone on a podcast who has decided that you can pick and choose which parts of the Bible you want to heed, because if you listen to the word of God entirely, and trust it as your source of truth, you may need to be in recovery.
Or maybe you have listened to someone in a pulpit or on a stage, that has chosen to sugar coat, rather than being the salt of the earth.
God’s word is in no need for revision or review.
It is forever settled.
No flaws.
No need for “extra texts” from men who were not under the influence of the Holy Spirit.
It stands perfectly, against every wave of attack.
And that’s why the enemy seeks to undermine it.
Don’t allow him to put question marks where God already put periods.
The Word of God is sufficient for me, and it will continue to be so. I’m not looking for something new, or in need of being “enlightened.”
This is the anchor of the soul, the truth I’m standing on!
Rebuke anything that seeks to discredit what God has already established!
