“My argument against God was that the universe just seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I gotten this idea of just and unjust?

A man does not call a line crooked

unless he has some idea of a straight line.

What was I comparing God with — when I called him unjust?” -C.S. Lewis

Sometimes it feels like God is unjust.

Even cruel.

But we have nothing to compare him to.

He cannot be compared to other people like us.

He cannot be figured out with our finite minds.

We try to measure him, according to our standards, our rules. But we would know nothing of goodness, of love, of JUSTICE, of righteousness, if not for him.

He created it.

So why would we dare believe that we could measure the creator with his own yardstick?

He’s either God, or he’s not.

He’s either good, or he’s not.

He’s either faithful, or he’s not.

You can’t measure him. You can’t think like him.

But shall not the judge of all the earth do right?

Shall not the one who created justice, shall he not perform it?

He will do right concerning you.

He is good.

Always so good, even when life is not🤍
