His shoulders are big enough

Hannah, broken and bitter, poured out her soul before the Lord. In “bitterness of soul”, she told the Lord that this place he had her was chafing her, it was constantly grieving her, it choked her.

And she wept sore.

But that doesn’t mean silent tears trickled down her cheeks, it means she BEWAILED, she mourned, she moaned. She was broken in every way, in the deepest grief she had ever experienced.

She poured it all out, and it wasn’t a neat and tidy pouring. The word “pour” carries the same meaning as if blood gushes out of a wound. It was messy, it was overwhelming, and intense.

And in the midst of her grief, Eli accuses her of drunkenness. As she poured out her entire soul there at the feet of Jesus, Eli shook his head in aggravation.

He totally misunderstood her brokenness.

In the depths of her despite, she was accused of anything but seeking the Lord.

Sometimes people don’t understand your grief.

Sometimes people dont understand why you’re so broken. Sometimes your sorrow is misunderstood.

But Jehovah Jireh, the great I AM, El Roi, the almighty God of heaven, understood every word she said.

But the God who sees—Jehovah Jireh, El Roi, the Great I AM—He knew. He understood every tear that fell, every piece of her soul that shattered. He did not chide her for being broken, he embraced it. In His infinite mercy, He gathered her tears, cradled her fragments, and listened with the tenderness of a Father who knows the cries of His child.

In the silence of her grief, God’s plan was already unfolding, His answer already on its way. There, in the sacred communion of her pouring out, He met her. As her soul burst forth like a flood, He understood every drop, every shard. And while Eli shook his head in judgment, God nodded in approval. He willingly took Hannah’s burden, and made it his own.

Let go of your pieces, don’t cling to your brokenness, just because its familiarity has become a companion. Give it to him. Communion with him instead of your heartbreak.

His shoulders are big enough for this burden🤍
