Jesus is still a safe place

There are few wounds as deep as the ones inflicted by those who claim to know God. The betrayal of a friend is painful—but the betrayal of a Christian friend? That kind of pain is disorienting. It shakes the foundation of what you thought was safe. It confuses love with manipulation, truth with control, God with people.

But here’s the truth that remains like a lighthouse in a storm-tossed sea: Jesus is still safe, even if His people hurt you.

He is not the voice that shamed you.

He is not the hand that rejected you.

He is not the silence that met your pain, nor the pride that dismissed your questions.

That was never Him.

When people misrepresent Christ, they distort His image, but they do not destroy His character. He does not change. He is not threatened by the failures of His followers. He is not undone by their cruelty. He weeps over it. He grieves with you. He walks right into the middle of the mess they made and whispers, “That was not Me. I’m still here. I’m still good. I’m still safe.”

Jesus is the healer who binds wounds no one else can see. He is the Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one crawling away, bleeding and afraid. He is the friend who doesn’t walk out. He’s the Advocate who doesn’t need to be convinced of your pain.

He is gentle with the brokenhearted and patient with the confused.

He knows what it’s like to be betrayed by those closest to Him.

He knows what it’s like to stand alone in truth while the crowd twists it for power.

Let Him reintroduce Himself.

Not through the lens of wounded people, but through the healing power of His own Spirit. Through the quiet comfort of His Word. Through the unmistakable gentleness of His presence in the night when no one else sees your tears.

Jesus is still safe.

Still kind.

Still holy.

Still faithful.

Still good.

Let the wreckage of human failure drive you to the feet of the only One who will never fail you. Let your ache become a sacred invitation: not to abandon faith, but to find it again—this time, in the arms of Jesus Himself.

He hasn’t gone anywhere.

He hasn’t changed.

He’s still the safest place you’ll ever be.🤍
