So someone else can see

This is not where she chose to be.

She had been brought here.

Alone.

Away from everything and everyone she knew.

She was a captive.

And now she was a slave.

Taken from comfort and security, and brought to somewhere strange.

But someone else’s healing was dependent upon her captivity.

2 Kings 5:2-3

“And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.

And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.”

Had she not been a captive servant, Naaman would’ve never heard that healing was available.

Had she been so bitter, in her captivity, and withheld good news, Naaman would’ve spent the rest of his life marred by leprosy.

No doubt, her heart was heavy and broken. She couldn’t help but grieve the home and family that she had been snatched away from.

But she realized that this was not without purpose.

She was here so someone else could find healing. We don’t know if she was ever sent home, to freedom, or if she served Naaman’s wife the rest of her days.

But she kept her heart tender. She knew God could heal Naaman, just like she knew God could deliver her.

What was a broken situation for her, led to Naaman being whole again.

I don’t know what is holding you captive.

I don’t know what has broken you.

I don’t know what situation that you wish you could be free from.

But someone else’s healing may be the result of your captivity.

Someone else may discover that healing is possible, available, because you’re here…where you would’ve never chosen to be.

Don’t let your heart grow hard in these days that seem to hold you hostage.

This may all be, just so someone else can see.

You are not here without purpose, dear one.

God will not leave you here.

But trust him while you are here.

Wherever you are, be all there!

Because, this may all be, just so someone else can see🤍
