Hebrews 10:25
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
"If you wait for a perfect church, you must wait until you get to heaven.”
Charles Spurgeon
There is no church that’s perfect.
There is no pastor that is perfect.
Your Sunday school teacher will be flawed.
The choir leader will have faults.
There might be a few people who sit on the pews that might even get on your nerves on occasion.
Stop looking for perfection when you are not perfect either.
I heard a preacher once say that the tabernacle of the Old Testament was unrivaled in beauty. But it had a dirt floor.
If you went in looking for dirt, there it was.
But you had to be distracted and miss the beauty of the tabernacle in order to see that dirt.
Who would walk through the Old Testament tabernacle, and be focused on dirt!?
Don’t walk into your church that way either.
You’ll miss so much beauty, so much of the Lord, when you choose to look for perfection instead.
Don’t hold the church to a standard you won’t hold yourself to.
There is beauty in the house of God today, if you’ll just choose to look up, instead of down at the dirt.
