Thousands of Religions, one empty tomb

Luke 24:5

“And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?”

All of creation held its breath as Sunday dawned.

The King stepped out of his borrowed tomb.

The only thing he came to buy was me.

Death, Hell, and the grave were defeated.

Everything changed in that moment, as he stepped victorious, from the tomb. Religion died.

The veil had been torn.

No more sacrifices.

Full access to the Father, for all who would believe. He had satisfied the wrath of a Holy God. He had bridged the mighty gulf between us and the Lord.

The birds sang in victory, because he was ALIVE.

The angels wept in joy because the Son was coming home.

Sunday had come.

The dawn of a new era.

The disciples saw the face of Hope.

Mary bowed at the nail pierced feet of the baby she had carried, that had paid the debt for her salvation.

The Sanhedrin and Romans panicked as the word spread that he was risen. You couldn’t stop it. All of creation testified of its Redeemer living.

There are thousands of religions throughout the world.

There is only one empty tomb.

There are thousands of graves of great teachers and scholars.

There is only one empty tomb.

There are millions of people who believe Jesus was simply a prophet, or a good teacher.

Yet, there is only one empty tomb.

He cannot be numbered with the founders of other religions.

Because there is only one empty tomb.

He came for a relationship, not a religion.

Religion died the day he walked out of the tomb.

No more law.

Just Grace.

Stop seeking him among the dead religions, the dead things this world will offer you.

He has RISEN.

He got up for you.

There’s only one Savior, because there’s only one empty tomb.
