Weary world rejoices

He was despised and rejected of men.

Did Mary’s family turn away from Him, this holy child she carried?

Did they refuse to gather near, to stand in awe as the shepherds had beneath the Bethlehem skies?

And Joseph’s family—did they scorn Him too, this child of divine promise?

Surely, Mary and Joseph’s hearts ached beneath the weight of rejection,

as those they loved could not see the wonder resting in their arms.

Perhaps Mary’s days were often lonely,

as the world around her seemed blind to the radiant light in her Son’s eyes,

unmoved by the life that beat with heaven’s heartbeat.

Yet, when He spoke her name—“Mama”—

oh, what peace must have rushed in,

like the soft embrace of heaven itself.

In that moment, the world’s rejection faded into nothing,

silenced by the tenderness of His voice.

One word from Jesus became a refuge,

a shelter for her weary soul,

a reminder that in Him, the whole world’s scorn could never diminish her joy.

Yes, He was despised and rejected—

but to those who love Him, who know Him,

how our hearts sing and our weary world rejoices when He speaks our name.

That’s why we adore him.

Jesus wins

I’ve heard it my whole life. Jesus always wins. It’s stitched into memory like an old Sunday school banner. Echoed in sermons. Sung in songs. But today? Today I don’t feel like I’m on the winning side

I can see him

I used to believe that walking with God meant having some sort of map, if not the full route, at least the next step, the next door, the next green light. But now? I am standing in the fog. Everything
