Zephaniah 3:17
“The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”
What if you’re closer than ever before to the wait being over? What if the ache you’ve carried like a shadow is about to break into dawn?
What if the trembling ground beneath your feet is not disaster — but the herald of walls about to fall flat at your shout?
What if you’re closer than ever before
to the sea splitting wide before your weary feet,
so you might walk through on dry ground,
wind-kissed and wonder-struck,
watching the impossible heap up in watery walls on either side?
What if the heavens have been holding their breath, angels lining the edges of eternity,
leaning in with bright eyes and burning hearts,
because your miracle is moments away —
because your breakthrough is a breath away?
What if you’re closer than ever before to fire falling? To the altar you’ve drenched in tears and longing being lit by holy flame —
consuming your sacrifice, your waiting, your heartache, turning it all into a sweet savor that rises to throne rooms above?
What if the prayers you whispered in trembling faith have formed a river beneath the surface —
and the ground is swelling with life about to burst forth?
Oh beloved, stand firm.
Lift your eyes.
Hold your trembling hands open to Heaven.
You are closer than ever before.
Closer than you dare to dream.
The walls are weakening.
The sea is shifting.
The fire is stirring.
Your God — the One who split Jordan,
who crumbled Jericho with a song,
who answered Elijah with fire from the sky —
He is moving for you.
You are not forsaken in the waiting.
You are being positioned for glory.
For the day your tears will be jewels on your crown, your scars a testimony that Hell could not steal your hope.
So take courage, mighty heart.
The dawn is breaking.
The King is coming.
And you are closer than ever before.
