Where is the miracle?

John 2:4-5

“Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.”

I wonder how many times Mary had come to Jesus, as she did at the marriage in Cana.

How many times had she wept before him, because someone needed a miracle and his hour was not yet come?

I’m sure her heart ached for miracles, that she KNEW were possible, but the time had not yet come.

But she was ready.

She was ready for that moment, for the “hour to come.” Which is why she told the servants to do whatever he said.

She was ready.

She wanted everyone else to be ready and expectant.

She stirred a spirit of obedience and service in those around her because she knew that he could not bring a miracle to pass unless they first were right and ready for whatever he might say.

Sometimes it seems like Jesus is “passing up” opportunities to perform a miracle, I’m sure Mary’s flesh felt that way many times.

But he’s waiting of the “hour to come” and no one knows that moment but him.

The key is being ready, like Mary, ready and obedient, creating an atmosphere in which he can work.

I know it feels like he is looking over your need for a miracle today, but he’s waiting for his hour to come. He’s waiting for HIS timeline. He’s waiting for the moment that he and his Father will be the most glorified.

You just keep being like Mary. Keep asking, keep preparing for the moment when he is ready to move, keep being obedient, and keep that atmosphere in your heart and life one that he can work in. Don’t hinder him, and then ask where the miracle is.

Whatever he says to do, DO IT.
